Mori to women: “You take a lot of time”.
Yoshiro Mori, 86, a former Prime Minister of Japan and currently Head of the Olympic Paralympic organizing committee said in the interview that women are “taking a lot of time” during the committee meeting.
During the committee meeting, there were 24 members and among them, 5 women were present. This “inappropriate” remarks of Mori triggers opposition leaders and government officials.
Kazuo Shii, leader of Japanese Communist Party, tweeted that the statement of Mori is “Stupidly Shameful”.
Tokyo Governor said that it is really up to the person. Ikegawa Yuuichi, a Tokyo councilor tweeted
When asked by journalist the reason why he said those remarks, he said and quote “I DON'T TALK TO WOMEN THAT MUCH LATELY SO I DON'T KNOW", WHEN ASKED WHETHER HE THINKS WOMEN TALK LONG”.
