Ayon sa Ministry of health labour and welfare ng Japan, Isang batang babae ang nag positibo    kahapon (January 22) sa Coronavirus variant na nagsimula ang pagkalat sa United Kingdom. Dagdag ng MHLW, posibling kakasalat ang bagong virus sa Tokyo city center.  Ang batang babae na nagpositibo ay nakatira sa Tokyo center (or ward areas) at may edad 10 taong pababa.
